The quality of laterite bricks are based on the colour of the laterite. If it is blackish-red, dark red it is of good quality. If it has many yellow spots in it, it indicates that it has less bearing and is of bad quality. By checking the edges of laterite, if it is broken and does not have perfect edges, we can say it is of bad quality. If we need to check precisely, take two laterite bricks, place one on the floor, drop the other from 1m top, if it is scattered into 2 or 3 big pieces, we can say it is good quality. if it is scattered into many tiny pieces it is of bad quality.
