Which type of paint is best/most suitable for wooden work? Which is the best among DuCO Paint, Melamine polish, PU Polish or Enamel Paint for wooden work? What is the difference between Enamel and Hi-Gloss Duco Paints and which is better?

Enamel Paints are considered as the most suitable option for wooden work. Enamel paints are water-resistant, stain-resistant, long lasting and durable. However, different types of polishes and preservatives are also available in the market. In earlier times, mustard oil and linseed oil (as preservatives) were applied over the wooden surface to improve the life of sheesham, murundi or other common structural and decorative woods.

*DuCO paints or spray paints with a slightly different composition and low viscosity than enamel paints can also be used as a painting option for wooden work. The cost of painting is slightly higher than the Enamel Paints. They are available in matte and glossy finishes also. DuCO paints are most commonly used in wooden partitions, wooden temples, frames and panels of doors or windows etc.

*Melamine Polish or Polyurethane (P.U) Polish can be used to give a more rich and classy look to your furniture but they have low water resistance. Melamine polish approximately costs the same as DuCO paints and they are generally used over veneers and they highlight the texture of the veneer and give it a very elegant finished look.

PU Polish are considered expensive but they are also very durable and the finishing is best among all other options.

*Enamel Paints are the most cost effective and most durable painting solution but they do have limited texture options.
