We have decided to build a contemporary house along with Kerala traditions. The challenge is to provide proper cross ventilation for all the rooms and spaces... We placed the common spaces first and then went for the kitchen and master bedroom according to vasthu. After that, we located the remaining requirements and in-between spaces were created as court yards, which allowed cross ventilation to all the areas. Given It is double the height of the dining area, which is located in the center of the house, and it helps to exhaust all the hot air naturally. It also has the famous Charlie Chaplin’s framed walking stick. 42 burgundy leather recliners, mahogany velvet walls, and an expansive movie collection are the contents of the theatre. The central objective when designing the house is to create a spacious, bright, pleasant, and easy-to-maintain traditional Kerala style house using natural materials. The house is in the shape of the Tamil alphabet “Pa”, and all the living spaces overlook the green courtyard. Due to proximity to the seaside and to mitigate heat, the sloping roof is built of timber and Mangalore tiles with large overhangs shading the walls.
