Hi all!
looking for an opinion on interlock concrete block for second floor wall construction.merits and demerits on practical experience are welcome. Thanks in advance.
Advantages
Does not require plastering
No need for cement mortar
No need for curing
High strength
Speedy construction.
Disadvantages
The gap between the bricks, since it is not plastered, is prone to insect attack.
skilled labour is required to reduce wastage.
At corners, there is a chance of sliding of interlock bricks so measures should be taken to cater to this.
Better to provide a concrete frame around the window.
Without column, suitable for G+1 buildings.
Interlock bricks at the exterior walls are prone to weathering, so there are changes of colour fading. Exterior walls need to be plastered.
