The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be the 22nd FIFA World Cup, an international football event contested by the men’s national teams of FIFA’s member associations. It will take place in Doha, Qatar from November 20 to December 18, 2022. This is the first World Cup to be hosted in the Arab world, and the second World Cup to be held entirely in Asia, following the tournament in South Korea and Japan in 2002. It is presently the most costly World Cup ever held, with an estimated cost of more than $220 Billion.
From the same city, we bring you a tour of the magnificent ‘Pearl ViIlla’ set in Neo-Classical design. The spectacular Neo-Classical Pearl Villa, located off the coast of Qatar and set against Pearl Island’s crystal-clear, sapphire waters, is the right blend of space, light, and sumptuous detail in Katharine’s latest Doha luxury interior design project. The Pearl Villa embraces the essential concepts of harmonious, seamless interior design, accomplished to the highest standard, presenting the best of British workmanship in an international environment, and completes both the interior architecture, interior design, and home decorating packages.
The Pearl Villa is a neo-Classical villa located on the coast of Qatar, near the city of Doha. Designed by British architect Katharine Pooley in association with architecture firm The Architects Ltd, the stunning home is set against the crystal-clear, sapphire waters of Pearl Island.
The multi-level property Pearl Villa has been designed to give maximum flexibility to its owners, offering them both privacy and relaxation whilst still being able to entertain guests.
Set on a plot of just over 1 hectare or 2.5 acres, the house features two wings connected by a central hall that leads to a double-volume swimming pool and spa area.
The interior design has been overseen by Katharine Pooley herself and includes a mix of custom-made furniture from around the globe as well as items sourced locally from Qatar.
The Pearl Villa has been designed for a family who wanted a retreat from their busy lives but who wanted to be close to everything that Doha has to offer. The villa sits on a private peninsula with direct access to sandy beaches and a swimming pool. It offers three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, two living areas with fireplaces and an open-plan kitchen/dining area overlooking a large terrace overlooking sea views.
The design incorporates elements of traditional Arabic architecture and traditional Persian carpets into the interior design scheme, which creates an elegant balance between modernity and tradition. The master bedroom looks luxurious in an all-white design with the help of floral wallpaper, white nightstands and cosy and relaxing bedding.
The master bathroom celebrates the beauty of marble by incorporating a vanity with a marble tabletop and walls fully covered with marble tiles. A hexagon-shaped mirror with a golden frame is installed along with two crystal wall sconces to illuminate the luxury design. Explore more such home tours on Kolo!
