Design company Drake/Anderson fashioned this upstate NY home with mid-century modern furniture that plays into the home’s contemporary architecture, inspired by Philip Johnson’s Glass House and Mies van der Rohe’s Farnsworth house. The designers were inspired by the natural surroundings, which included lush grass and deep woodland.

The interior design objective was to incorporate the textures and colour palette of the outdoor surrounds into the colours and furniture. To create an uncluttered environment in the living area, the designers used clean lines and tones of grey, ivory, and brown. A silvery Tibetano rug with a raised, Tetris-like design gives texture to the otherwise minimalist interior.
