This defective in casting concrete is known as" honey combing. " Many reasons are there. 1 lack of propervibration, 2. Improper mixing and non standard/ non specified aggregates .3. Over reinforcement etc ..etc.. Remedy... Preventive measures.. 1 Concrete mix shall be as per IS Specifications by using graded stone aggregates and the proportion of fine aggregate (Sand) is to be added by considering the bulkage test .2. Water cement ratio and Vibrator operation during casting shall be perfect.3. Ensure that "No leakage of cement grout ,when vibrator is used . Thank you...

Mr. Unnikrishnanji said it properly . The Mix proportion might not correct . while casting ,due care might not given . Water cement ratio might be not considered properly .Due to segragation , bleeding of concrete , less vibration etc are the reasons . Proper workmanship was lack there . Need to repare with Conbextra GP ( Fosroc ) like material . Be proactive while casting RCC Columns & beams . All building owners should make use the service of Experienced engineers while doing these type works .
