AAC blocks are widely used in the construction of apartments and other types of residential properties, industrial and commercial buildings, such as hotels, offices, hospitals and schools. Owing to their excellent heat insulation capacity, AAC bricks find application in interior and exterior construction. Concrete block masonry which is also known as concrete masonry unit (CMU) have advantages over brick and stone masonry. Concrete blocks are manufactured in required shape and sizes and these may be solid or hollow blocks. Interlock bricks are not safe for high-rise buildings. In fact, they are only good for the first three floors of a building. That is why interlocking bricks are usually reserved for residential buildings and are not used to construct commercial buildings. If you are trying to build a building in an area prone to earthquakes, interlocking bricks might be a better choice. They provide better insulation in hot areas. ishtikaOven-baked bricks were made by the same process. When the bricks were dried throughout, they were stacked in ovens called kilns, which were heated by fire. The temperature in the kiln was increased slowly until it reached 1600 degrees to 2000 degrees or higher, depending on the kind of clay used. Laterite stone blocks are being used as masonry material for housing construction in Malabar region of western India for ages, because of being abundant, relatively easy to cut and shape and showing good performance in many applications.
