Look Inside Roger Federer’s €6.5 Million Beautiful Mansion in Switzerland

The day that most tennis fans were both looking forward to and dreading has arrived. Roger Federer, the Swiss tennis legend, announced his retirement from competition on Thursday. “I am 41 years old; I have played over 1,500 matches in the last 24 years,” Federer said in a social media audio clip.

His retirement comes just days after Carlos Alcatraz, 19, outran and outpowered yet another opponent to win his first Grand Slam and become the new World No. 1. Tennis is evolving. Federer’s supple and agile frame had recently made him appear increasingly out of place on tennis courts.

Roger Federer’s home is in the Swiss municipality of Wollerau, with a view of Lake Zurich. The 39-year-old moved there in 2014 with his wife, parents, and four children.

The house was built from the ground up on a 1.5-acre plot of land. It has several floor-to-ceiling glass windows, so some might call it a “glass house.”

Roger Federer paid 6.5 million euros to commission this architectural marvel almost a decade ago.

The Federer family home has three floors. It is divided into two apartments: one for Federer, his wife, and their children, and one for Federer’s parents, Robert and Lynette.

The master bedroom of the house has floor-to-ceiling glass windows and laminated flooring. There is an attached bathroom as well. It has a dual wash basin and a marble bathtub. The bedroom overlooks a beautiful balcony which has outdoor chairs and hardwood flooring. The whole area creates a visual statement and is designed in a minimalistic style.

Due to its low income-tax rates, the municipality of Wollerau is very appealing as a home location for wealthy individuals. Formula One stars Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen are among Federer’s neighbours.

The region’s residents, including Roger Federer, pay around 10-12 per cent of their income in taxes, which is less than half the rate in cities such as Zurich, Basel, and Geneva.

Aside from the breathtaking scenery, Roger has plenty to do. The property has a swimming pool with a spa as well as a first-rate gym. Both will keep Fed on top of his game. There’s also an underground parking garage for his exquisite Mercedes-Benz collection. His parents, however, benefit the most.

Roger has always praised his parents for how they raised him. He once stated that they were never pushy and were interested in everything he did, not just tennis. That inspired him to parent in the same manner as they did with his own children, so perhaps having them nearby will help show him the way.
