Inside Anna Kendrick’s Lavish $6.9 Million Hollywood Hills Estate in Los Angeles

Anna Kendrick and her team were rescued by Canadian firefighters after becoming trapped in an elevator, the “Pitch Perfect” actress recently revealed!!

According to Kendrick, she and several others became trapped in the elevator while on their way to a screening at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.

“I got in the wrong elevator at the wrong time,” she told People in a Sunday interview. “I got out. Some lovely Canadian firefighters helped me crawl out the top of the hatch. But, yeah, there were about seven of us in an elevator waiting to be rescued by firefighters.”

Anna Kendrick’s life has been a nonstop whirlwind, with Emmy, Tony, SAG, and Academy Award nominations already under her belt. Despite this, the 37-year-old actress has found enough time in her career to invest in real estate, spending nearly $7 million on a lavish home near the pinnacle of the hills that soar high above Los Angeles.

The new Kendrick estate is remarkably private, nestled near the end of a secluded cul-de-sac that is actually an offshoot of another secluded cul-de-sac. Nonetheless, it provides thrilling, unobstructed views of the city lights that dot the San Fernando Valley. And the property has an impressive celebrity pedigree, having been purchased by fellow actress Mila Kunis in 2008. Six years later, just before her marriage to Ashton Kutcher, Kunis sold her Hollywood Hills bachelorette pad to a non-famous man, who sold it three months later to Dominic Howard, the longtime drummer of the acclaimed English rock band Muse.

During Howard’s seven years as owner, he renovated and expanded the house, enlisting the help of New York and Los Angeles-based architectural design firm Studio Tim Campbell, before listing it for $7.7 million. After several months and no takers, the asking price was reduced to $7 million; soon after, Kendrick stepped up to the plate, and all was well.

Anna Kendrick has a lot of famous new neighbours because he lives in the Hollywood Hills. The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ John Frusciante, who owns two spicy side-by-side homes, and Swedish pop star Tove Lo, whose own residential Shangri-La was once owned by Danny McBride, are among those within sugar-borrowing distance.

Though it sits high up on the road, like many homes in the densely packed Hollywood Hills, the nearly 4,900-square-foot residence is virtually invisible from the street, thanks to tall walls and thick hedges. Naturally, the location has a high-tech security surveillance system.

Inside, imported French oak flooring covers the expansive great room, which has separate zones for relaxing, dining, and cooking. One end of the room is warmed by a fireplace, while steel-trimmed glass doors and windows take in the views and spill out to the backyard.

The listing describes the yard as “resort-like,” with a pool/spa combo, grassy patches of lawn, a fire pit, and a flagstone patio that connects to a raised wooden deck with an outdoor kitchen and al fresco dining options. The lush landscaping keeps nosy neighbours at bay on the third-of-an-acre property.
