"ഒരു കെട്ടിടത്തിൽ ബീമുകൾ എവിടെയൊക്കെ വേണ്ടി വരും " ഇതായിരുന്നു ഒരു സുഹൃത്തിൻ്റെ സംശയം. സംശയ നിവാരണത്തിനു വേണ്ടി Civil Engineers ൻ്റെയും Architects ൻ്റെയും ബാഹുല്യമുള്ള Kolo family യിൽ വന്ന് ജനറൽ ആയ ഒരു doubt raise ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ Medical field ൽ പറയാറുള്ള Online consultation പാടില്ല "ഒരു Doctor നെ നേരിട്ടു കാണൂ എന്നു പറയുന്ന പോലെ Engineer നെ കാണൂ എന്നു വേണമെന്നില്ലല്ലോ..?(പക്ഷേ കോവിഡ് കാലത്ത് online Consultation നും നടന്നിരുന്നു). സാധാരണക്കാരനു മനസ്സിലാകുന്ന രീതിയിൽ മറുപടി കൊടുക്കുമ്പോൾ വായിക്കുന്നവർക്കും സന്തോഷം. നമ്മൾക്കും പിൻഗാമികൾക്കും ആ ജീവനാന്തം താമസിക്കുവാൻ പണിയുന്ന വീട് stable ഉം ലാഭകരവുമായി ചെയ്യാൻ പരിചയസമ്പന്നനായ ഒരു Civil Engineer ൻ്റെ മേൽനോട്ട ത്തിൽ ആകണം ... Beam എവിടെയൊക്കെയാണ് കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതായി വരുന്നത് എന്നുള്ള ചോദ്യത്തിനു സാധാരണക്കാർക്കുള്ള മറുപടിയായി തന്നെ ഈ Post നെ കരുതാം.... ശരിയാണ് ഒരു കെട്ടിടം പണിയാൻ Plan തയ്യാറാക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ പണിയാൻ പോകുന്ന structure ൻ്റെ Face lift നെകൾ പ്രാധാന്യം Stability ക്കു കൂടി ഉറപ്പാക്കി കൊണ്ടാകണമല്ലോ നിർമ്മാണം പൂർത്തീകരിച്ച് വാസയോഗ്യമാക്കുവാൻ. ഒരു കെട്ടിടത്തിൻ്റെ Skeleton ( അസ്തികൂടം) ൽ പെടുന്ന പ്രധാന structural element കളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് RCC Beam. തൽക്കാലം ഒരു വീടു പണിയിൽ ഇതെവിടെയൊക്കെ വേണ്ടി വരും എന്നു നോക്കാം. Site condition അനുസരിച്ചും സാമ്പത്തികവും പരിഗണിച്ച് ഇപ്പോൾ സാധാരണയായി രണ്ടു തരത്തിലുള്ള നിർമ്മാണ രീതിയാണ് പിൻതുടരുന്നത്.1. പരമ്പരാഗതമായി ചെയ്തുവരുന്ന Load bearing structure with tiled / RCC or light roofing. 2. RCC framed Structure. ഇവ രണ്ടും കൂടി ചേർന്ന Composite structure ഉം Site condition അനുസരിച്ച് പരിഗണിക്കാവുന്നതാണ്.( Spread Footing നു മേൽ കുറ്റി പില്ലർ ഉയർത്തി Plinth beam വാർത്ത് അതിനു മേൽ Load bearing masonry wall ൽ super structure with any type roofing) ആയാലും അത് framed structure ആവില്ല. Beam കൾ എത്ര തരം എന്നും അതിന് IS456 - 2000 നിഷ്കർഷിക്കുന്ന ടpan depth ratio ... L= Effective span 1:Simply supported Beam L/20(രണ്ട് Side ലും free യായി support ൽ ഉള്ളത്). 2. Continuous Beam (L/26).(രണ്ടിൽ കൂടുതൽ Bay column/wall support കൾ ഉളള Beam ) 3. Cantilever Beam (L/7) മേൽ പറഞ്ഞവയിൽ തന്നെ ഉപവിഭാഗങ്ങളും ഉണ്ട് ). Fixed / Restrained continuous, /Fixed Cantilever/Overhang cantilever etc. ഈ വിഭാഗങ്ങൾ RCC Slab കളിലും ഉണ്ടു്. Load bearing structure ൻ്റെ Slabകളുടെ self weight ഉൾപ്പടെയുളള Dead loadകളും Live loadകളും ഭൂമിയിലേക്ക് എത്തിക്കുന്നത് ഓരോ റൂമിൻ്റെയും നാലു വശങ്ങളിലുമുള്ള ഭിത്തികളാണു്. Site soil ൻ്റെ SBC ( Safe bearing capacity) ക്ക് suitable ആയിട്ടുള്ള എല്ലാ type ലുമുള്ള foundations ഉം Safe ആയി ഈ കൃത്യം നിർവഹിച്ചുകൊള്ളും.മറിച്ച് R.C.C Framed Structure ൽ Beamകളും,Plinth beam വഴിയാണ് Ground floor ൽ കെട്ടുന്ന ഭിത്തി യുടേതു ൾപ്പടെയുള്ള load കൾ foundation വഴി ഭൂമിയിലേക്ക് എത്തിക്കുക. Floor SIab ൻ്റെ weight ഉൾപ്പടെ Floor ൽ impose ചെയ്യുന്ന എല്ലാ load കളും നാലു വശങ്ങളിലും കൊടുക്കുന്ന Beam ലൂടെ നാലു മൂലകളിലും സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള columns വഴി അനുയോജ്യമായ foundation ഭൂമിയിലേക്ക് എത്തിക്കുന്നു. ഇതു കൂടാതെയും ബീമുകൾ Load bearingലുംframed Structure ലും ആവശ്യമായി വരുന്നുണ്ട്. Stair caseൻ്റെ mid landing നും Floor landing നും Beam ആവശ്യമായേക്കാം. കൂടാതെ Ground floor ൽ Plan ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന Room കളിൽ നിന്നു് വ്യത്യസ്ഥമായ Size ൽ ഭിത്തിയില്ലാത്തിടത്തും ഇട ഭിത്തി കെട്ടേണ്ടി വന്നാലും, Car porch കൾ sit out കൾ ബാൽക്കണികൾ എന്നിവക്കും roof SIab ന് സപ്പോർട്ടായി Beam കൾആവശ്യമാണ്.കൺസീൽഡു ബീമിനെ load വഹിക്കാവുന്ന ഒരു ബീമായി കരുതാനാവില്ല. Toilet block Portion ൽ half Partition ആവശ്യമാകുമ്പോഴും ഒരു വലിയ Hall ൻ്റെ SIab ൻ്റെ കനവും reinforcements ഉം കുറച്ചു കൊണ്ട് Stable & economical design ആയി ഒന്നിനു പകരം രണ്ടു panel ൽ execute ചെയ്യാനും Beam ആവശ്യമായേക്കാം.
