My existing single floor house has a stone compound wall. The next house behind the wall is built one storey below. What can be done to strengthen the stone wall? Retaining wall?
first get the dimensions of existing retaining wall.. then it has to be chkd for its capacity... if it is able to carry soil pressure with pressure from three storey building... then the same retaing wall is ok... otherwise we have to go with strengthening measures like provide additiinal rcc wall, soil nailing etc.... requirements plot dimension, soil report, existing building details, proposed building details..
Compound wall is built in stone with mud in between, 60 years back. There's a one floor house in the plot. Foundation for the house is built for 3 floors. The next plot is at a level 10 feet lower than this plot. Compound wall(retaining wall)looks good now. Plan is to construct one or two more floors for this house. The concern is on the strength of this wall, to withstand the soil pressure, if two more floors is constructed. What can be done to strengthen the karringal Compound wall?
