There are self cleaning models from Hafele , Faber etc in the market, which is also known as filter free models. These models suck in vapours, fumes and oil particles and in the impeller it seperate oil particles from the air. These oil particles are dripped into a collector tray, which you can empty once in 2 months or so. Suggest you to visit a showroom and see for yourself and clear any queries there .

The auto clean chimneys uses an automatic blower to suck in hot gases with oil particles from the cooking stovetop. brands are Faber, Hindware etc.
