4 Eye-Catching Residential Bathrooms With Bold Tiles

In our latest article, which includes 5 bathrooms that are defined by tiles, has colourful geometric shelves and melancholy black surfaces. Tiles are slabs of material such as ceramic, stone, or baked clay that architects and interior designers use to line interior and exterior walls and ceilings.

Tiles are frequently used as a protective covering, but they may also be employed as beautiful or amusing design aspects in projects. From serene sea-green walls in a Los Angeles home to an all-tangerine space in Canada, here are 5 residential bathrooms using tiles as the focal point.

1. Montreal Home, Canada, by Naturehumaine

Naturehumaine, a Canadian design firm, created a bathroom in this Montreal residence with little mosaic tiles in a brilliant orange tone that complement the room’s smooth orange walls and cabinets. The second bathroom has the same geometric pattern but is decorated with deep navy blue and white tiles.

“The colour highlights in the bathrooms enliven the aspect of these restricted spaces and complete the project’s graphic composition,” the firm claimed. The architects utilised orange and blue colours to provide vibrancy to the bathrooms as well. The colour accents in the bathrooms enliven the appearance of these tight spaces and complete the visual composition of the project.

Zen Den is a mid-century makeover in Los Angeles that was redesigned for the owners’ own house by the local business Working Holiday Studio. The bathroom is finished in ceramic green tiles from the American company Fireclay, which also cover a little bath-side nook where amenities may be kept.

Working Holiday Studio’s owners refurbished their own mid-century homes by opening up the kitchen, installing skylights, and filling the interior with contemporary furnishings. The Zen Den residence is located in Woodland Hills, a Los Angeles suburban enclave about 20 minutes by vehicle from the ocean.

House 6 is a residence in northern Madrid that was renovated by the Spanish firm Zooco Estudio, which included many modern elements. The renovation includes a bathroom with white tiles and blue grouting on the walls and flooring. A statement geometric counter in a step pattern was built to provide a colourful storage closet, similar to the designs used in swimming pool changing rooms.

In the bathroom, the studio has covered the walls and floors with white tiles and blue grouting. A geometric counter clad with blue tiles snakes across the ground and up the wall to form a storage closet in the space.

Carter Williamson Architects used textured black surfaces and big panels of windows to bring light into the previously gloomy rooms of this Sydney family house. Textured black surfaces take centre stage in this Sydney residence designed by Carter Williamson Architects and located in the city’s Balmain neighbourhood. In one of the bathrooms, little black tiles border the walls and ceiling, going up into the pitched roof.
