The multi-hyphenate is also a fitness fanatic and a mother of two children. In reality, her time away from the entertainment world was spent mostly with her daughters Renee and Alisah Sen. Sushmita Sen’s formal living room stands out from the rest of her flat with off-white leather sofas topped off with dark brown leather cushions, a delicate waterfall chandelier, and a low, dark wood coffee table filled with bronze trinkets and trays. Behind the subdued seating area is a big, eye-catching Buddha painted in earthy tones. Wooden flooring, rich blue stone detailing on the walls, and indoor potted plants give this place the same rustic feel as Sush’s home.

Sushmita Sen’s common area, which is peppered with images of her Miss Universe experiences, framed charcoal sketches, and metallic sculptures, attests to her passion for art. Sen is an avid painter who auctioned off one of her works for Rs 25 lakh in 2006 before giving the proceeds to charity. Renee, 20, takes her Kathak dancing classes in Sen’s comfortable common room, which also happens to have a creamy off-white couch in the centre.

Sushmita Sen cannot be discussed without mentioning her dedication to fitness. Though the actress enjoys working out in various places in her home, her favourite may be her bedroom. Sush often posts images and videos of her rigorous training sessions in the loft-like area with lover and model Rohman Shawl. The part-slanted ceiling of this area, which is adorned with wooden panels, gives it a rustic and cosy feel. The actor’s clean all-white bed, topped with soft cushions, adds to the cosiness of the bedroom. Sen’s refuge has a personal touch with shelves of books, Buddha sculptures, and other ornaments on one busy wall of the room. A mahogany cabinet is also included, adding to her collection of unique items.

Sushmita’s basic and charming home is distinguished by wooden furniture, artworks, and antiques, and the dining area is no exception. In one corner of this room, an ancient oak cabinet sits next to a glass cabinet displaying Sen’s tableware collection. Above the large dining table with metallic chairs, a chandelier with crystal stars hangs. The highlight of this space is a dark wooden plank drawn with a portrait of Sen wearing the Miss Universe crown next to an orange and gold artwork. The composition is a homage to the 1994 pageant when Sen made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win the crown.
